Maintnence and repair

A sound system in a lot like a car, if you give it the right care, it can give you years of trouble free operation. And just like a car, if battered on for years with no maintnence, they begin to fall apart at the seams and it can seem like something new breaks everyday.

Regular sound system maintnence is one of the most affordable, and overlooked investments in sound system ownership. A couple hundred dollars of maintnence can prevent tens of thousands of dollars in equipment failures. It is really the most important thing you can do for your system. There are many moving parts in a soundsystem that need periodical attention to prevent overheating, overexcursion, system component failure, and the complete equipment malfunction. Often times if a problem is found early, it can save you substantial amounts in repair costs. A speaker driver caught before completley blowing can cost $80, instead of $350 to repair, and a $5 repair on an amp can save the cost of replacing it when it overheats and dies, often costing $2000-$7000.

Generally a bi-annual maintnence schedule works well for most systems. However systems used indoors, and systems in clubs that are subjected to daily use, dust, spilled drinks, smoke, and rough handling need more frequent attention. Contact us to determine an appropriate schedule for your system.

Maintnence usually consists of several tasks; testing each individual component for failure, or malfunction, cleaning of cabinets and drivers, tightening all screws and connectors, cleaning and inspecting each amplifier, testing and cleaning procesors, and cleaning and testing of the DJ equipment.

In the unfortunate event that your equipment does fail, we offer fast onsite service. Many problems can be repaired onsite, and for those that can't, we will take care of the repair, or find the appropriate repair shop. We deal with getting the part or component to and from your venue.
